Scenario Three
Kim is shopping with a friend and her phone rings. When she realizes
it is her phone and not her girlfriend’s it is on the third
ring. Kim and her friend had been on a shopping spree and her hands
are full of packages and bags. When Kim finally puts down her bags
to blindly reach into her purse, she misses her call, which turns
out to be an important message from her mother.
While it was Kim's phone that rang, her friend also reached into
her bag to be sure it was not her phone that was ringing. If Kim
and her friend had a convenient place to store their phones they
would have been able to distinguish whose phone it was, and Kim
would have been able to take the phone call.
